The debate over the French referendum being polarized as it is has resulted into a funny neologism - the word '
NONISTE' has appeared in the press lately. As you may guess even if you don't speak French, a 'NONISTE' is someone who favors the 'NO' vote.
But 'nonisme' is even better. It sounds like a religion - and it could very well be the religion in France whose people like to say 'non' all the time...
and who knows... it may soon be in the dictionary or be officially published in the 'Journal Officiel' by the
General Committee of Terminology and Neology (but because it is not the result of some English invasion of our language, it's unlikely)
