No 'situational awareness'

Here's what President Bush said about Katrina on ABC last night :
BUSH: When I saw TV reporters interviewing people who were screaming for help. It looked — the scenes looked chaotic and desperate. And I realized that our government was — could have done a better job of comforting people. A lot went right, by the way.
What is it exactly that "went right"? What certainly went wrong is that the most powerful political leader on earth has to rely on TV to know what goes on in his own country... Scary or what!
As he put it earlier in the interview, the problem that happened with Katrina is that there was "no situational awareness". Great euphemism for presidential incompetence.
It's always better on video.
