Delay's Rapture.
To understand fully the great irony of this cover you need to know about the (Christian Right) Left-Behind series (see our post here), and you need to know something about Tom Delay whose face it is in the sky) of course
I think it is a great one, given Delay's obsession with 'Christian values' and the phonetic similarity of his name with Tim LaHaye, one of the authors of the Left-Behind series.

"Christian values" indeed! As you probably know, Delay and other Religious Right figures have been guided by the apocalyptic "rapture" (Delay having a personalized one that wasn't delayed!). RR leaders still claim that their money-making "rapture" (for political agendas) can be traced back to Christ; they know, however, that it's less than 200 years old (type in "Pretrib Rapture Diehards" on Google for proof)! It's been found that Lindsey, Falwell, LaHaye etc. are unblushing plagiarists (type in "Appendix F: Thou Shall Not Stead" and "Thomas Ice (Bloopers)" for starters)! Falwell's Liberty University, BTW, currently hosts the Tim LaHaye School of Prophecy and Tommy Ice's Pretrib Research Center - three weapons of mass deception whose motto should be "In Gold We Trust"! It would be great if you would do an in-depth feature on what has been overlooked by almost every historian: the earliest primary documents on the "rapture's" 19th century beginnings which can help explain why that wacko escapist view has always been riddled with massive amounts of dishonesty!
