Update: What is amazing is that some some prominent conservative commentators are standing by Bennett. National Review Online contributor Andrew McCarthy claims Bennett "was right" and calls criticism of Bennett "shameful. The Conservative Voice also offers some scary rationale for Bennett's comment.
