Heck of a job, Brownie!

Just when you think this administration can't look any dumber, along come the published email exchanges between former FEMA chief Michael "Brownie" Brown and his associates. In the midst of one of the worst disasters in the US, he was asking how he should dress, who could watch his dog and whether or not he could tweak anything in the Federal response for those dying and without food. Now there's a born leader! Reading through some of the email exchanges, the guy is definitely in way over his head. This is, of course, the same leader that Bush complimented publicly, "You're doing a heck of a job, Brownie."

Of course, this same Brownie is still on the government payroll as a "paid consultant" with a salary of $148,000. What exactly he could possibly advise on seems rather unclear, unless it happens to be dog-sitters, proper FEMA attire, and basically what NOT to do in an emergency. Perhaps France's Interior Minister would be interested in this currently "available" consultant? He has experience in emergencies and it seems that Sarkozy has one of his own right now! How's that Sarko-suit looking? According to Brownie's assistant, you need to roll up the sleeves to show how hard you're working. Sarkozy...you listening?

UPDATE: with news print like this:

Rioters set fire to hundreds of vehicles in an eighth night of unrest in the impoverished suburbs of northeastern Paris as exasperated local officials criticized the response of national leaders.

...I don't think the French need Brownie. They must already have their own. Do you think we could sneak a peak at Chirac's email?
