Why WE decided to publish the 'Danish cartoons'

Yesterday this blog posted the most controversial cartoon of the 'Danish affair', the reason is this:
.... when a use of religious imagery that many find offensive becomes a major news story, we believe it is important for readers to be able to judge the content of the image for themselves (the Philadelphia Inquirer)
But mostly, also because nobody really cares what this blog shows. We can only wish it was different - although sometimes it makes it easier to have fewer (but nonetheless most valuable) readers! ;-)
