Paris brûle-t-il?

And France's Nero...er, Chirac, does nothing apart from a rather uninspired statement. It would seem that he is not so interested in his country, only his own image. But perhaps we should not be so hard on him. What could he possibly say that would endear these disaffected youth to him? He has already alienated the majority of his fellow French. Only his diehard supporters remain loyal to him. We'll see what today brings, undoubtedly more violence, but we can hope for a glimpse of daylight through the smoke of burning cars.
