Spelling Bee buzzes to bad ratings.

As we sort of predicted, Spelling Bee does not do so well on prime time television.
Despite the success of movies like Spellbound and Akeelah and the Bee, Thursday night's airing of the final round of Spelling Bee on ABC took third place in its time slot. The earlier rounds were aired during the day on ESPN, where the Bee has gained a following over the past several years.
Who cares about cute kids who have nothing better to do than just memorizing the dictionary, stressed parents, and difficult words no one has heard of! That's no enteratinment after a hard day's work. Even as a teacher, I am not impressed, it's too educational for me and certainly too much like work.
