Kyra Phillips Humors off her Toilet Gaffe

In case, you missed it, the toilet gaffe of CNN anchor Kyra Phillips whose private conversation in the toilet was broadcast over George Bush's speech has been around on the net. Here's the transcript, of what was heard by those who thought they'd be watching a speech by the US president:

Phillips: "Yeah, I’m very lucky in that regard with my husband. My husband is handsome and he is genuinely a loving, you know, no ego–you know what I’m saying. Just a really passionate, compassionate great, great human being. And they exist. They do exist. They’re hard to find. Yup. But they are out there."

Phillips also inadvertently revealed how she feels about her sister-in-law:

Phillips: "..Brothers have to be, you know, protective. Except for mine. I’ve got to be protective of him...Yeah. He’s married, three kids, but his wife is just a control freak."

And here's the video on You Tube

Then she introduced her own Top 10 excuses on David Letterman show. She said she "hasn't mastered the on/off switch" and "wanted to win America's Funniest Home Videos". Her Top 10 excuses also included "being "set up" by the rival Fox News network", and she also joked that there must have been a reporter "embedded in the bathroom".

My favorite is her excuse # 4:

"Oh, like you've never gone to the bathroom and had it broadcast on national television?!", adding "Larry King does it all the time," Wow! Way to go, Kira!

As for her # 1 excuse, it was this :

"You have to admit it made the speech more interesting!".

Boy, Kira has a way to humor it off, doesn't she? This extract of David Letterman show can also be watched on You Tube (via Crooks and Liars)
