On the other hand, jiongoism is still doing well...

The good news is that the Tom Delay's victimization strategy, when he compared his lot to a crucifixion has failed. As the NYTimes reports facing the possibility of defeat, he decided not to try to keep his House seat. In Time Magazine, he apparently vowed "to pursue an aggressive speaking and organizing campaign aimed at promoting foster care, Republican candidates and a closer connection between religion and government."
So I guess he would help Rick Santorum (Republican Senator from Pennsylvania) spread his religious jingoism:
“I believe faith is incredibly strong in America. If you look at the rest of the world and the struggles that they’re having, particularly in Western Europe, which just completely abandoned faith, completely have gone to a secular society: those cultures are dying. People are dying. They’re being overrun from overseas… and they have no response. They have nothing to fight for. They have nothing to live for.”

“In this country, we have this vibrant faith that’s on the rebound. More people go to church on Sunday in America than go to all of the sporting events in America held during a year combined.” (see video here)

So what about...Iraq? Katrina? Just to name a few... I guess we all have our problems and weaknesses!
