Are the Red Hot Chili Plagiarists? Judge for yourself.

Last week, we talked about the success of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers' new album "Stadium Arcadium" but now it seems they may be accused of plagiarism. Their hit single "Dani California" is said to have the same chord progression, melody, tempo and lyrical theme as Tom Petty's 1993 hit "Mary Jane's Last Dance."
Tom Petty is reportedly looking into legal ramifications (here) but both bands are on the Warner Bros. label.

Well, if you want to judge for yourself, here's "Mary Jane's Last Dance" video, and here's the 'Dani California' video. Personally, I much prefer "Dani Calirfornia", but it's like wine, it's a question of taste!
